Chris Owens became a director of IBACAS in 2004 and has been involved in the Corporate Actions market since 1994.

Chris began his banking career in Australia in 1987 within the back office, covering all aspects of settlements and latterly specialising in derivative products. Chris moved to London in 1994 and joined the Corporate Actions department at Bankers Trust. He moved to Morgan Stanley in 1996 where he became a senior analyst within the department, covering processing and management of all Corporate Action types and markets, particularly specialising in the Stock Loan market.

In 2000, Chris became an independent consultant and has been involved in a number of projects, both in London and Melbourne, Australia.

During this time, Chris worked at ABN Amro as part of the Change Management team charged with implementing the Checkfree (formerly Heliograph) eVent Corporate Actions STP system and a new Stock record system from ACT.

More recently Chris has been involved in the in-house build of an STP Corporate Actions system at Morgan Stanley. He has worked on the release of both the Stock Loan and Broker Dealer Corporate Action components, providing detailed analysis, as well as taking a lead role in Functional Testing and UAT.
